Christine Cooper

My name is Christine Cooper, and I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP and NCPS. I mainly work as a Person Centred counsellor but also use creative arts if the client wishes to use them. How we work together will be dependent on each client and in whichever way suits them. Person Centred therapy is more often known as a talking therapy, however, for many of us finding the words can sometimes be difficult, or even seem impossible. Using creative arts in therapy can be an alternative way of expression and communication for some people.

IAs an integrative counsellor I have a toolbox of therapeutic approaches, which can be tailored to suit each person's unique journey. I try to offer a safe harbour where a child or young person can start to heal and feel empowered to face lifes challenges with resilience and self confidence. With children, I use play therapy and art. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion.

I am an Integrative Child & Adolescent Counsellor and EMDR Therapist.
I have over 10 years experience working with young people and parents in schools and charities across Bromley and North Kent. As an Integrative Counsellor I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities which are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child I work with, incorporating play and artwork - a child's natural means of emotional expression. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment.

I specialise in supporting children and young people aged 10-18 who are struggling with low mood, poor self-esteem, identity issues, friendships, anxiety, panic attacks, parental separation, grief, self-harming or suicidal thoughts. The aim is to understand and explore what is troubling them, to find their voice and to improve their mood and their relationships.
