Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (Dyspraxia)

Dyspraxia is a neurological condition that affects the coordination of fine and gross motor skills. It may also cause challenges in spatial awareness, memory, organising themselves, perception and judgement. For every child symptoms may present differently so it is important to focus on what dyspraxia means for your child. Children might experience delays in areas of physical development and this may affect their participation in sports or physical activities. This can create a lot of anxiety and shame for children, especially if they experience ridicule and humiliation as a result of the challenges they face.
